In 1990, founder Ray Gilbarte started by selling pepper spray to stores in eastern North Carolina—from the trunk of his car. The idea was simple: offer effective, straightforward protection people would truly use. The business grew into Cutting Edge Products, Inc., distributing across the U.S. and internationally. Today we operate under our flagship brand, Streetwise Security Products, one of the most recognizable names in the industry, with a corporate office in Winterville, NC. We’ve maintained an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and a strong credit history (Dun & Bradstreet) but our motivation to uphold a high standard comes from a higher authority.
